Don't kill yourself - or anyone else - trying to get there, Nippy. You need to be around to make fun of my color pics and gear choices when I start posting pics, or all of this will be for naught!

Nippy - as you know - deadlines / targets are great - but they don't always work out. Enjoy the build - enjoy the process. Don't cut corners and it will all work out in the end BTW - a little Miami Blue goodness at the Cars and Coffee over the weekend.

[QUOTE=JeremyD;9444615]Nippy - as you know - deadlines / targets are great - but they don't always work out. Yeah it will take a miracle and everything to go perfect for it to be in Daytona. I'm actually going to have to help him on the last few things such as interior and glass back in the car. 4 hands are better than 2. My buddy text me a picture of that car from cars and coffee. I have only seen the color once in real life but loved it.I think it will look better on my air cooled old school fat bottom girl...but I could be a bit biased.

Making some progress. Lots of small and big items getting done now. Fiberglass tail light housings and new lenses and gaskets are in, wired and working. You can see the bumper brackets and some new rubber seals in this picture along with the M&K muffler (tips being powder coated matte black) Gas filler area all shaved and cleaned up looking pretty. Car was drained and we put 5 gallons of ethanol free 91 in her today along with fresh oil and filter. The elephant racing oil lines and new thermostat are now all connected to the front oil cooler. She fired right up! Xenon headlamps are also now wired and working. You can see the passenger side ballast up against the inner fender wall on the far side and we ran the wires through the factory holes. The trim rings will be painted Miami blue with all new rubber gaskets. You can also see a bit of the front mounted oil cooler with the air deflection panel welded in behind it and DP primed. Another good look at the fat butt! I know the elephant in the room is leaving the engine bay and under the hood white.Since I changed colors at the last moment, we will handle that later or maybe leave it alone as she is a track monster in the making! The engine lid hinges will be blue along with the front hood hinges. The engine bay may just be blacked out at some point.I wish I had known and could have had the chassis blasted and sealed and then painted in full but that's not how this build went. Factory door sills on, not going to use the rennline. So they will be for sale. You can see our fixed seat mount brackets and if you look real close you can see the new WEVO shift joint is installed. Headliner and carpets coming this week along with glass back in the car.Door pins were zinc plated and new zinc plated striker plates will be installed. So jams will be nice and tidy.

Really great colour, looks like it's all coming together. Good call on the engine bay being black too. Looking forward to seeing the car finished.

Nippy, The project is rocking right along and looking oh so righteous! Question - where did your source the fiberglass tail light housings?

Last lil detail parts. New door strikers and door stops along with all hardware and shims. Also bit the bullet on a new center reflector. Just a matter of putting it back together now.

May as well keep on keeping on, no reason to start skimping now, eh? I hope you got the linen suit and pastel short-sleeve shirts on order. No socks needed, but you're going to need a truckload of mirrord Ray Bans ( they get lost or stolen a lot ). Oh, and did you get your custom stubble razor that leaves an eighth inch of stubble on your face when you shave? I tease. Your build kicks ass, Nippy, even if it IS the wrong shade of blue . One day... ONE day, I'll get going on mine. 3.3 short stroke, eh? Hmmm... | ||
