Painting inside of smugglers box
I cleaned up some surface rust inside the smugglers box. What the best thing to use to re-paint the now clean, bare metal? The existing coating seems to be some kind of rubbery stuff. I don't care much about appearance since this is seldom seen; I just don't want any rust to come back.

Plus 1 on the pot 15 I used it about 5 years ago and have had no peeling or rust return. The silver seemed to cover best imho

mine was rusty, welded in new metal, surface prep, seam sealer, and POR 15.
