Brake fluid overflow
I was changing the brake fluid on the car, and I had the Motive Power Bleed attached with about a quart of ATE Blue fluid pumped up at about 10PSI. I did one wheel, and started on the next, when I hear a whoosh. I determined that can't be good. I saw no fluid on the floor of the garage. Evidently, it blasted out the overfill hose, which was. of course, detached in the front trunk. It ran out the trunk, and down onto the pedal cluster.
Could be worse...I have no carpet or basically anything in the interior, as it's been apart for awhile. However, I just rebuild the pedal cluster. I drilled an 1/8" hole in the floor next to the cluster to drain it, and flushed it with a gallon of water, and called it a night. Tomorrow morning, I'll go back out to clean up better. What is good for the cleanup? Just keep flushing it with water?

MMMMM . It's oily and corrosive.
I would use a solvent to flush it all out. Alcohol perhaps? Then wash and rinse with simple green or dishwasher detergent. Just my thoughts...

Take the overflow line off completely and cap it off with a rubber vacuum port cover / cap when pressure bleeding. Even with the overflow line clamped off i was still loosing pressure here and it was overfilling the reservoir as a result.

Sorry but it unfortunately will remove the paint on anything it touches, even if it is wiped off, bad stuff for any paint. Now it got between the floor and pedal cluster and will remove the paint down there. This is one of the most prone areas to moisture and rust unfortunately.

I removed the pedal cluster, pulled it apart and relubed it. Cleaned out the affected area with simple green, a vacuum cleaner, compressed air and alcohol. Sprayed the floor area with undercoating, along with the mating surface of the pedal cluster. When everything is dry, I'll put it back together
And thus, the Great Brake Fluid Spill of 2015 has been mitigated.
