Fitting 81sc fuel accumulator/ filter to 73 Chassis issues

I'm fitting my 81SC engine into the 73 chassis, trying to mount the accumulator and filter with bracket to car and there appears to be no holes present... I'm guessing that the 73 car would normally not have an accumulator and hence the mount holes are not there.

Is it as simple as drilling three new holes for the SC bracket to be mounted in the location in front of rear fuse panel against wheel well?

Thanks for your help.

Brent,

A 1973.5 does have the holes for accumulator/filter console.

Was the car a CIS car to start or a MFI Car? If the car is a ROW, it would have the holes to mount the MFI filter.

I would think you could just drill the holes for the bracket.

Hi Harry,

It is a 73 car that originally had the fuel pump at the rear by the rear sway bar mount.
I'm pretty sure it would have been MFI in it's original condition however I never had engine and gearbox.
Was a USA car.
I think I will dummy up the bracket with Fuel filter and accumulator, position and drill holes.

Thanks Brent

May not be CIS or MFI, it could be a euro '73T with Zenith carbs originally, like the one I used to own.
No mount locations similar to the SC were installed in that car.

Edit, never mind, you posted your reply above as I was posting mine...

Sounds like a MFI car. Drill and enjoy.

I just did something similar. I have a '77 engine in my '75 and the bracket is different. Luckily two out of three holes matched up. I just marked the third hole and drilled. Just a note, the factory holes are a lot larger than the studs on the bracket. The holes are actually the size of the rubber sleeve that goes over the studs. When you tighten the nut it compresses the rubber and makes a tight fit. At least that is how I think it's suppose to work.

Thanks Tony,

Two holes lined up with the bracket I had, drilled one more hole and all sorted.
Just need to sort some rubber mounts to soften it a bit.
