Bad Drilled Fuch centers?

SOLD

Below are observations so far. Let me know your thoughts on the quality if these wheels I just bought and trying to sell. Thanks

1) holes not aligned like many meaning 2 on each petal.

2) holes not centered on the outer ring.

The number of holes, their resultant spacing and position with respect to the Fuchs wheel center probably were determined by the number and spacing of the holes in the BBS outer rim halves. My guess is that the outer pieces already had holes drilled in them, so the Fuchs part was drilled to suit.

I think they're fine. Is the runout ok?

Basically what Javadog said. I'm going to assume the fuch centers were drilled based on the existing 20 hole outer lip

Thank you. I had the same thought. Now.. the holes not positioned 2 on each petal like most as claimed is probably a strength issue? Looks like these wheels have ran many miles.

Who knows? Short of doing an FEA, it's just a guess. I'd say the rims halves have a fair bit of use, no way to tell about the Fuchs centers from your pictures.

Sell them and move on. Maybe choose a different path next time?

In talking to a long time respected builder of three piece wheels for racing applications he stressed the need for an experienced individual to properly machine the Fuchs centers for the three piece build. He also felt that placing the centers between the BBS halves is a sounder build. Lots of difference in stress factors between using these on a 3.0 hotrod putting out 300hp versus a built 930 motor putting out 500hp.

Runout means 'if it's round'? Will check this when I get the chance. Wheels do show they have been used so my guess is it's no issue but let me check. Forgot to do this during fitment.

Checked. All true and flat.

I agree with the BBS 20 bolt theory. I think they're awesome and could be pulled off on an SC/3.2 with some camber, fender massaging, etc. I wish I could right now

They looked damn good while I was checking on my car. Too bad they didn't fit. Anyway I wonder if they are street worthy? The way the barrel lips are folded they don't look strong enough for someone like me who's never good at avoiding potholes. Are they simply track wheels?

I was eyeing those out. If they matched up with the "petals" I would have sent the payment. To me, they don't look professionally done.
