Post Cruise control clutch switch - access

Recently bought a 1985 911 Targa. Cruise worked on purchase, but quit shortly there after. Based on research, thought clutch switch was most likely culprit. Tried to get access from taking driver side floorboard off, but no joy. Ran out of weekend to look for way into center console. What is the best way to get to this switch?

Thanks!

There is another opening in the top of the tunnel, just behind the console. From there you can remove and adjust the switch. Two screws hold it in place. Use a mirror and 10mm socket on an extension.
Good luck,
