"Real World" Headlight / Blinker Electrical Help

With the wiring cut for the dismount of the front bumper and fenders for paint, I need to put things back together. The PO did some odd wiring and I'm having a little trouble.

I do have the wiring diagram for the car but not everything is the same on the diagram as the car itself. Also, I don't know where exactly wires were supposed to be routed as the PO had some really wacky things going on. This is what I have now. Obviously the orange and black wires are not stock and are for the blinkers and running lights (will be deleting running lights for an early bumper).

Also, I plan to use these waterproof connectors on the headlight wires so that if I ever wanted to dismount the fenders again I could with ease. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B014P8XJQE/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1451966784&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=5+pin+waterproof+connector&dpPl=1&dpID=51sDR-5xlPL&ref=plSrch

Any direction? Help? Ideas?

The pair of wires in the top of your photo look like the horn wires.
The one at the bottom of photo sticking out of the car has all the wires for headlights, turn and running lamps.
List the colors of the wires and the year of your car and we can tell you what is what.

This is what your front harness looks like new.

Sweet harness! Forgot to mention it's a Euro 1982 SC.

The horn wires you speak of were connected to the turn signals and running lamps. Somehow they all worked properly. At this point it sound like I might need to rewire the fuse panel from the ground up. Any good resources for that? (Besides 40 year old wiring diagrams that don't match my wire colors?)

My advice would be to buy a new harness and not try to fix what's left of what you have. If you can't afford a new one, buy a used one. You might want to research whether or not there were different harnesses for ROW cars and US cars.

The factory diagrams do a good job of matching what I have in my cars, so maybe the probelm you are having is you're not using the correct diagram.
