1987 911 Door Lock Problems

Hey all

I have an 87 911 with a door lock problem. I have disconnected both door lock solenoids from their linkage and while the passenger side door works fine manually, the driver side door is 'stuck' in the unlocked position. I absolutely cannot rotate the lock mechanism manually.....nor would it function when the elock solenoid was connected. (I originally thought the solenoid was frozen which is why I disconnected it.) A visual inspection shows nothing amiss. No bent rods, no dead critters clogging up the works. I think it may have something to do with the micro switch on the door handle assembly??

Any help is appreciated

If door is open it will not lock as a safety feature from accidentally locking the keys in the car.

Roll the windows down, close the doors and try it that way

Hmm?

I just checked mine, confirmed door open I can not lock it prior to close, but the strange thing is when closed I can't lock it either.

I have wireless remote. It locks and I can manually unlock it but will not lock. Oh joy, I guess mine is busted or disconnected somewhere.

Passenger side works as designed

Well, good excuse to remove and powder coat them as I wanted to :-)
