1975 Carrera Rear swaybar size

Mine is missing, I would like to replace it. I measure the front bar at 20mm.

Is that stock, and what size should the rear be? I recall 18mm being stock for this car but it is hard to find the data online.

Thanks

74 911 with "carrera" bar option

My dad bought a 74 coupe with the Carrera bar option, that is 20mm front and 18mm rear. My rear bar was also missing when I inherited the car. One side chassis mount looked like it had been torn off and the other mount looked like it had been cut off with a sawzall, likely the typical fatigue failure.
A word of advice, check the rear bar chassis mounts and be prepared to beef them up, if damaged.
Wevo, available through our host, makes excellent bar reinforcement mounts.

You may wish to consider using a later, (85 and up) rear bar because they use a bolted, rather than rubber slip on bar mount. This enables the use of Heim jointed, (adjustable), drop links available from Elephant and Tarett; which facilitates the corner weighting of the rear, (elimination of bar pre load).

hope this helps,
chris

Yes, I have read over the years about the brackets being somewhat fragile. Mine are OK but I am missing the clamps. It looks like the later style bars might be easier to find.

Thanks.
