Welding question
Hi all,
I'm mid restoration on my 1970 911 T, its having some body work done at the moment. (Pic attached) I'm trying to figure out if this hole on the sill (Between door & the wing) should be filled or left open. As is, it looks prone to rust. Just wondering if anyone has a similar model that could send me a pic as to what their car looks like in this area. Thanks in advance for any help.. Mark ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hi, and welcome to porsche restoration heaven (most of the time). On mine (a 1972), it was plugged with a plastic cap. Other than for spraying wax down the cavity, I can't see what else it's for.
Good luck, and please post progress!

Many Thanks for the reply Florio.. By chance do you have a picture of how the lower sill looks... Welding begins tomorrow, just want to make sure I dont make any serious mistakes...
Cheers, Mark |
