Little spring.
  ^^^^^ Found this little guy inside the bottom of the driver's door. Any thoughts as to It's correct application/location? Thanks in advance, Gerry

Actually that looks like the "over center" spring in the door lock. (lock, unlock function)
I had to remove mine so I could install central locking motors.
