SWB seat belts

I'm wanting some 3 point retractable front belts for my 68 911. There are no anchor points on the b pillar. I take it this is not doable.

Page 631 of the PET (https://www.porsche.com/filestore.aspx/download.pdf?pool=multimedia&type=download&id=porscheservice-originalparts-dropdown-kat073-911-69-katalog&lang=en-us&filetype=default) show non retractable 3 point belts available for your 1968. The B pillar point should be under the interior trim.

The installation of retractable belts may present a challenge since there is no good place to mount the retractor in a position that would allow it to work properly. Most retractors require your mount it so the belt moves straight up.

In your 1968 (similar to my defunct 1967 Targa), the seat belt points are actually behind the seat using eye bolts under the rear seats. These are not positioned properly to share the mount for the retractor. IN the 69 and beyond, they moved the seat belt mounts to the base of the seat and added a depression next to the rear seats to allow the retractor to be mounted properly.

A search in the 911 Technical forum with the terms seat belt retractor turns up over 100 posts.

Here are some threads that show how some addressed the problem. There are more.
