New Bilstein ride height increase, how long?
My '84 coupe has almost 170k now, and records seem to show no suspension maintenance ever, other than a couple of front bearing services. So I am planning to do a complete refresh shortly, all new bushings, bearings, ball joints, etc.
That will also include replacing or rebuilding the original green Bilsteins. I'm well aware that fresh Bilsteins will raise the ride height over what it is now, but what I don't know is how long will that increase last? A few 100 miles? A few thousand? Tens of thousands?
What I'm trying to decide is when to do the final ride height adjustment and corner balance. Right away after the shocks, or should I wait a while and put some miles on it first?
