Porsche Crest Balance

Hello:
I would like to remove the heavy battery and the spare replacing the gas tank with a 100 liter tank and the battery with a light lithium model. What issues and solutions as far as balancing the 1989 3.2 Carrera do I face? I have removed a similar amount of weight from the back of the car. I'm concerned about side to side balance.
Thank you

What are your goals? Unless you're at the limit of your tires, I don't think you will notice.

Removing weight from the rear of these cars is always good. Removing weight from the front is not always.

I can't think of anything that you would have removed from the rear that would effect side-to-side balance.

My goal is to remove 200 or so pounds. I'm not concerned about the rear balance. Porsche balanced the car with the spare and battery. If I remove them how should I compensate for that.
Thanks

Here's my '84 with a nearly empty tank, no spare, and a 15lb Odyssey PC680 in the OE location. No driver.

I wouldn't sweat it too much.

Stop worrying about it. What you are doing doesn't matter unless perhaps you are an experienced and fast racer driving at the absolute limit.

good stuff afterburner, also any sound deading, pitch, goop, seam seal should be removed. hard core removal of the sun roof will help. I think i removed almost 500 lbs from my SC. rear to front. then set ride hight and corner balance. it was a transformation, 180 HP feels like 300 on a light weight car

From the driver's seat you won't notice much from removing weight from the front. If you are REALLY sensitive you will notice more from removing weight from the rear. For example removing the AC compressor or the rear bumper can make a difference that a sensitive driver will notice if the car is setup a bit on the loose side.

All in all weight that is removed is a good thing. The more weight you remove from the rear or center of the car the more effective the weight loss, but in the end any weight you have to carry around counters the performance objective.

You really don't need to worry about side to side weight with regard to corner balancing, Your concern for handling purposes is diagonal weight which is easily adjusted with small changes in ride height, IOW it doesn't really affect much if your fronts don't weigh the same (ithin reason) so long as your lf/ rr and rf/lr diagonally are equal or fairly close.
