Bolt-on flares

Does anyone have pics of bolt on flares in there archives. I saw gt racing has 9" and 11" that can bolt on. just would like to see what they look like.

The factory used fastened-on flares on all of the 934 race cars. I'm sure someone will post a pic soon. I have alway thought it looked cool and if done correctly would be cool on a street car.

You might want to check Jim Patrick's 914 race car on his Patrick Motorsports website. He put the flares on with large head rivets and I am doing the same with my race car. If you race, it makes for easy replacement or removal and if it is for a street car, it just looks mean.....

Somebody posted this, recently:

And someone posted this a while ago:

Keep in mind, you'll still need front and rear bumpers to match the flares, and you're going to have to take a saw to the old flares. With all that work involved, it seems you might as well get the flares bonded on -- unless the 934 look is what you're specifically looking for.

You have to have a turbo body to use the bolt-on 934 flairs.

It's, of course, just my opinion, but I think bolt on 930 flares would not look good.

i am in the process of bolting 9" carbon fiber flares form gt racing right now. the flares are ready just need to prep and cut the car.

i like the look, no nonsense and if some one clips my rear quarter on the track i just bolt a new one on.

here are the flares

here is a picture i found on the web of another car with bolt on flares, this is not mine.

Some of you may have seen the pics of my 79 SC to which I have added fiberglass flares. Here it is ready for the paint shop:

In cosidering my options for attachment, I used the following logic: As the car was intended for drivers ed only and contact with other cars is limited, I prefered to have a cleaner look by bonding the flares. Also, I thought I would have some fun by replicating the IROC look. After all the work of bonding them, I'm not sure that I shouldn't have used fasteners. I'm glad I'm done with that phase of the project.

My other option was to use dzus fasteners. They would provide easy on/off capability. I believe they disengage with half a turn or so. If I ever do this again, for a track car, I would use the dzus fasteners.

It may be an old thread but a good one.
wanting to wide body my DE/Race/street car.
Thinking bolt on flares for a bad ass look.
It's an 85 Carrera with steal flares on the rear only with IROC bumpers. the rear flairs just don't look right.
I just dont see to many to choose from. Getty looks :/
Advice please

If it were me, I would dzus fasten an entire rear quarter panel on.

I'll be doing that the next time I hit a tire wall....
