Question SC owners: rear tire/wheel fit

I am thinking of upgrading my wheels. I am told that 9" x 15mm offset AND a 255 mm tire will fit. Have any of you done this and will this size tire rub my fender lip? Is a 245mm tire more prone to not rub? thanks. 81'SC

255/50x16? It'll fit but is too tall. They will ruin the gearing. Go with 245/45x16 and you will be pleased.

Thumbs up

You can get 225/50/16 on front and 265/45/16 on rear if you have stiffer torsion bars and roll the fenders slightly. Works great on my track car with SC flares. My brother has setup on an 85 Carrera.

I assume you are refering to the Kumho VictoRacers a nice R compound tire, which is really not suitable for street use, but to each his own. The overall height is still a bit on the tall side.
