Flares differnce for 930 Turbo 1977-1985 and 1986-1989 ?

I have been told that 930 Turbo cars had different size Fuch wheels during the following years. Was there any difference in the body flares for these cars or did the factory just put more offset on the wheels to make the 9x16 wheels fit?

1977-1985 7 & 8 x 16
1986-1989 7 & 9 x 16

Different offsets. On the 9" wheels, most of the extra inch went to the inside. No flare difference that I know of, not for wheel width, anyway.
