Can this valve be bypassed?

This valve makes a hell of a lot of noise. It runs to the oil tank. I believe it has some sort of diaphragm in it that must be broken.

My question to those that know :
What's the purpose of the valve - two recirculate crank case case vapours?
Can this valve be deleted and the two pipes joined together?
There is a braided pipe that runs back to the throttle body - this would also need to be deleted.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Sure, where does the other end go? Intake? You will likely aspirate oil on tight uphill turns and kill mosquitoes. Why not replace it?

The black hose runs to the front of the throttle body
The small braided hose runs to another connector on TB
Put another pod in and you won't have to plug several ports.

Just thought I could delete - one less thing to worry about and fix.

If it must remain for the engine to function correctly, where can I find a new diagram? Couldn't find it on PP.

The noise is so loud - driving me nuts.

Not sure what year your car is, but if I'm looking at what I think I am in your picture, and you have an 84-89 Bentley Manual, look at Page 100-4. If this is mounted above the oil tank, it's the oil tank vent valve. When the engine is warm, it's supposed to open to vent the oil tank to the intake. The vacuum line is thermostatically controlled to allow vapors to vent only when engine is warm.

If memory serves, you can purchase a new one, but it's a totally different shape, so the existing mounting bracket (which I don't see) won't work - you'd have to get a new one of those, too.

That's a great read thanks. The gasket is on its last legs. If I can't bypass I will need to replace it as the noise is unbearable. Anyone know where to source the replacement?

Still don't know year of your car, but if by chance it's 84-89, part is available here for $60. Search Part # 930-207-227-02.

It's purpose is too prevent icing on the throttle body in cold weather. There are a few threads on replacement options if you search the forum.
I did not use it when I installed a 3.2 in my 1973, but I also did not drive in cold weather.

I am running a 1985 3.2 in a SWB 912.

I drive the car once a month so I'm not concerned about environmental impact. My other car more than makes up for it

I would really like to delete it. However when I disconnect it mucks up the idle. To delete, what do I do? Joint the two pipes that run to the oil tank? What do I do with the the fabric thin pipe that exists the throttle body. Can it simply be plugged?

Quick sign off on this thread. Deleted the valve.
Connected the oil pipes, plugged the small tube running from the throttle body. Works a treat. No more kazoo!
Btw - I would not delete if you live in a particularly cool climate.
