Caliper clearance measurements required for new wheel

Hi all,

Here at Group 4 Wheels, we're looking to introduce a new wheel for 964, 993, 996, 997, Boxster and Cayman 986/987 and the biggest sticking point is the measurement of disc mounting face to outside edge of caliper (measurement A in the attached diagram).

I would appreciate it enormously if you guys could help with this measurement for all the above cars.

Regards

Jonathan

Your request is a bit ambiguous. Will the 'A' measurement be different for the rear where the hat is integral?
I'm admittedly a little slow on the uptake, but I don't see how this measurement will effect the size wheel.
Also, you're aware that Porsche has multiple size calipers from various years that will also bolt onto numerous years?
Good luck with the new wheel.

We've got 1 wheel due to come to market May/June and another, a short time after. Both wheels are very nice, I'm super excited! We'll be releasing images of 1st project sometime in April.

You might have better luck in one of those forums . If you need assistance with 911's I'm sure one of us could help.
Good luck

It doesn't affect the size/diameter of the wheel. What's affected is the depth of the wheel hub vs. the back of the wheel spokes/face. In other words, if the caliper projects out quite far from the mounting face of the brake rotor (all the 964, 993, 996/7, 986/7 cars have rotor "hats" that slip over the axle hub), you can have clearance issues between the face of the caliper and the back of the wheel spokes.
