Anybody wanna go in on a lemonade stand to try to raise money for the IROC?
If we sell at 50 cents a glass, we only need to sell 3,000,000 cups!!!

I'm actually going to the auction!

I've always wanted to see absurd sums of money spent at record speed.

I think that blue 550 was at a PCA concourse in LA 2010 pre Seinfeld ownership. I bet Jerry fixed the over spray on the latches !

Based on what I have read about Mr. Seinfeld and his fondness for all things Porsche, I think we can assume the car was pretty much perfect. He has been a great steward of all things Porsche, and this car may be one of the pinnacles. This is an amazing example.

They made the statement that this is THE best example of how the car left the factory in the world. You could tell the guy bidding on this car was not going to lose it. For the serious collectors, it may be decades before a particular car is available again. That is a completely different universe of car collecting.

Appears the market has softened, based on comparing those numbers to estimates.

The overall market may have softened but many of the Porsches that were in the auction were among the few cars that met or exceeded the estimates. My takeaway was that Porsches are still among the more desirable cars. Lots of 356s and 930s on the market.
