HELP: How to remove taillight assembly?

I need to remove the R taillight assembly to access a tail/brake light bulb socket problem. I see two screws holding it in place. One (inboard screw) is corroded on. Attempts at unscrewing the phillips screw has started to strip the phillips head. Any suggestions on how to remove this screw and whole taillight assembly??

Thanks
Mike

Working from a memory that isn't always the most reliable. But I believe after removing the lense all you have to do is unscrew the two screws inside. If they strip. Just drill the head off the screw and replace with a new screw.
