Arrow Should I avoid this 76?

More on the yellow 76 Targa...
Spoke to the mechanic who maintained the car under the PO. He says an engine rebuild in '88 would NOT have included any stud work. Apparently you can only check for time certs if you pull the motor?
Given that and the fact I will be bringing the car to CA primarilly for Summer driving, should I pass on the car? I have a PPI scheduled. Anyone out there with a 75-77 in hot climates that has original studs?
Am I getting paranoid?

Tim

PS: I'm not married to any particular year but I like the retro look. I drove an '84 the other day and it was a blast. This car is on rennlist but I haven't contacted the seller. Retro look (needs Fuchs) AND SC benefits?
