911 SC shifter rotating?

Merry Christmas!
So my shifter isn't loose or wobbly, but it rotates, especially when I throw it out to go into reverse or fifth. I pulled the skirt up and watched the stalk turn in the bearing. I think a weld popped? Or maybe epoxy gave out? In any case, is this something I can just epoxy to keep it from rotating?
Thanks!

911 shifter broke off!!! stranded in 1st!

Original is epoxied, most recommend a tack weld to fix.

What is easiest way to remove the shifter to weld it?

Did this weld fix with the shifter in situ about 10 years ago. Just ensure you're well grounded. . .
