tensioner upgrade question 2.7

hello all, i'm doing a tensioner upgrade on my 74 911 2.7 and after getting it apart noticed that i needed tensioner spacers to complete the install, my problem is that even with the spacers the cam chain idler has room between the spacer and the tensioner, is this the way they are supposed to fit or do i need new idler arms as well? thanks

It's normal to have some room. But note that many people believe it is safer for
avoiding chain tensioner failure to use the idler that has the longer bearing (eliminates
the spacer). I believe some shops that follow this forum will modify idlers; the later parts
are kinda expensive to buy new.

I have an extra pair of idlers if desired.
