Show me your fire extinguisher!

Hey!

Bought my first Porsche last year (1982 SC) and my first upgrade was a fire extinguisher. I just cannot figure out where to mount it so it accessible, yet not in the way.

Where have you mounted yours?

fire extinguisher mounting

On passenger side rear 2 bolts mounted.
easy access by reaching from drivers seat.
safe in case it comes loose behind seat
rear seat hardly ever gets used any way.

Since we are discussing fire extinguishers, I seem to recall smaller CO2 fire extinguishers being introduced a year or so ago. Anyone know anything about them and where to buy one? I looked at one time, but could not find the smaller size. The CO2 extinguishers were touted as better because they did not leave a residue.

Easy install on the shift coupler access plate. Used the existing screw holes.
Easy to reach from either seat.

Mine is mounted on the floor behind my passenger seat.
I made a u-bracket and mounted it under the seat rails.

I thought that was why people used Halon. To avoid the residue.

I used the Rennline mounting bracket to install in front of the passenger seat but it sat too high, so I removed and mounted directly to the passenger floorboard.

Brey Krause for power seat and it does restrict the forward movement a little-not like tall people are in the backseat anyway.
It's out of the way when I want it but there if I need it.
Extinguisher. . .because it's CIS
Halotron. . . because it's a Porsche
5lb. . . because it's Halotron

Did you make an entirely new coupler cover out of aluminum to hold the FE, or just am flat piece of Al to handle the FE bracket?

Cheers

I purchased a small one that fits perfectly in the glove box. I did t want it sticking out at the front passenger's feet.

I also went with the BK mount but modded it and added a quick-release. See my thread on it here.

The slope is not slippery; in fact it is entirely frictionless.

Fairly sure the color of the bottle reflects whats inside or maybe what class extinguisher it is, I don't think you can get them paint to match. I'm sure someone on here knows the code.
