Comments, suggestions on RSR dash, thanks

I am reassembling my rsr/hotrod and am wondering if I should cover the area around the gauges with black leather or leave it painted. I would leave it painted if I were keeping the car, but it will be for sale and I don't want to alienate buyers.

personally, I would leave it painted orange, but I think you're right, I'd paint it black or cover it for sale purposes, looks a tad too wild for some peoples taste.

I prefer black. Body color behind the gauges is too distracting. Too much contrast between body and gauge makes the gauge faces blend.

Also, I am big on no glare. This means shiny paint on the dash is a no-go for me. Make it satin or flat black.

Otherwise that is a very tidy build.

I would paint the dash black…..and please sell me that car when you are done with it.

I'd leave it orange because it would be easy to paint it black after if you need to.
Going back to orange would be a pain.

I'd take a thin medium (extruded plastic) and cover it with a faux carbon fiber applique then fit it in place behind the gauges...it would be removable. Then the next owner would have a choice. The bottom section could be covered in numerous ways.

I'd offer it for sale as is or with it painted black for no additional charge. That way you add no work unless necessary and you don't miss out on the potential buyer who loves it and must have it (hopefully!)

For me my build is a custom and I like the look of the body colour. Very nice looking project!

Body colour interior cues were good enough for the factory when the introduced the Cayman R and the Boxster spyder, both throwbacks to the early interiors that predate the RSR but look fantastic to my eye.

Also, as other have said, it is easy to black out later but more difficult and a shame if you really wanted body colour.
