My Car is GONE!

The Beast is gone. Parted with her today. Sold her to a fellow Pelicanhead I met from this BBS. I'll let him post his identity if he wishes. It was simply time to move on. I have had several Porsches and other hobby cars over the years, and I have found out that I really enjoy the building process of putting together a car almost more than I like it when they are done. Kinda hard to explain, but after Im finished I get bored with them and move on to something else. Some time after the Holidays I'll start looking for another 911 to play with and build. I do have a 72 911 that has not run in 9 years, but I'm waiting for my son to get a little older to build it for him as he has "claimed it"! Keep your eyes open for some project cars for me in the meantime. And for those who actually read my posts, don't worry, I'm still going to hang here evreyday posting my 2 cents worth!
Goodbye to my baby,...

I hear ya loud and clear, 'snak.
That's the way I seem to go with the m/c's I restore. I start out with the intention of keeping them when they're finished, but I've found out I'm not a collector.
Your car looks lovely. Someone just got lucky!

Same here! I always undertake my restorations (cars/racecars/motorcycles) with the belief that "this is the one I'll keep forever", so I always choose the best way to do things, whatever the cost. Then after a few months of enjoying the finished product I'm ready for another one. The guys who buy my stuff get real bargains!

I understand the excitement that comsumes the creator.
What I can't do is part with my creations. So much hardship, time, and money in each and every one. The wife gets nuts from time to time, she actually wants to park HER car in the garage!

Someone got a GREAT car. Where were you when I started my SC project?

I am the same way! I cant stand to get rid of a part finished project either, but when they are done I only have a few months before the itch begins. Of course some times the projects take years!!

rattlsnak,

i loved your car man, it was sweet.....especially the color! Anyway, I'm sure the new owner will enjoy it, and as long as you're having fun it doesn't matter how many Porsches you go through.

later,

amir
