Period Correct Stereo install Question

Hi All -
I bought a period correct Blaupunkt Bonn for my 77 that has been reworked to accept MP3input. Works great.

I am not 100% happy with the install however. Even with the correct clips and rear bracket, the case is not as tight in the dash as I would like. Per the pic below, I am using the Blaupunkt face place.

Should I be using the factory Porsche recessed face plate pictured below? Will this snug things up and is this the way it would have been installed (correctly) back in the day? I really want it to look as stock/original as possible.

Thanks -
Scott S

Do you have the rear support bracket?

definaltly need the rear support bracket. If that dosent improve it to your desire, then the recessed plate will fit better (slightly larger than your existing plate).

Yep. It is very solid front to back. The clips keep it pretty solid left to right. It is the up and down where I can move it easier than I think it should. Dash is stock (not cut up or anything).

Thanks!
