Help me diagnose a no-start. Won't you?

Thank you in advance. '84 911 Carrera.

Was at the track. All was well. Fuel tank full.

On throttle. Then it just died. No big bangs or clunks at the moment of failure. RPM's did not shoot up into the red with my foot still on the gas pedal. Coasted to a stop. Engine wont start. Turns over but no evidence of combustion at all

1. I have spark

2. When I turn key to on, Fuel pump does nothing.

3. When I hold key in starter position, there is just one little clunk from the fuel pump but that's all.

4. I disconnected the electrical connections to fuel pump and then connected an outside car battery to pump, I hear the same little clunk from the pump as in #3 but that's all. The fuel pump is not spinning or making any noise even with the remote battery attached.

From these facts alone can I conclude that its definitely fuel pump only? Or could it be a fried DME relay as well? Could it also be a crankshaft position and speed sensor issue? (I pulled those and cleaned them up really well and visually inspected them. They look fine to me. I reinstalled them.) Still no start.

What do you guys think?

Taking all your info together, I'd say it is the FP, especially if you used another power source right on the pump.
To prove it, you could remove the FP and bench test it.
You could alternatively jumper the DME (FP) relay socket pins 30 to 87b (safer than the external batt' right onto the installed FP).
Check the FP fuse in the luggage area for giggles.
I doubt that you harmed your DME.

Fuel pump will not work until your 3.2's starter kicks on.

Either build a by-pass rig for the DME relay connector as described in the Bentley or disconnect the Yellow wire at the starter and turn the key to start, you will or will not hear the Fuel Pump working.

Your symptoms sound like a bad FUEL pump for sure. Recently a buddy's 86 3.2 did the exact same thing. $45.00 later and a new pump, she started just fine.
