Maybe I was thinking of Lipstick red. Regardless, I'm digging it. I'm not a fan of red on cars, but the interior seems to be a different story. It's such a strong, unusual colour. I even considered a change to sort of a blood red which I think would look sweet on Marine blue. Your Can Can looks great.

Good luck on your wheel decision. I know it's a big one. But don't sweat it. If you hate your choice, it's not a huge deal to change your mind after, mostly just time. It's not like you would have to repaint your car or something...

I say stay gold. They would have looked great on my brown car.:) I had gold bbs on my white '84 Gti back in the day. Thought it worked well.

The pics weren't exactly the best representation of their condition. Don't get me wrong, they were ok... I could have mounted them up just the way they were. However, the clear coast on the lips was badly oxidized, the paint was flaking off two of the centers, and two of the wheels had some small scuffs. On a 1 to 10... I would have put them at a 6.5. I was just happy they were still round and not all dented up.

Had I not had a solid wheel shop in my area, I would have probably left them alone for now. But having someone who knows what they're doing and the price being reasonable, I said why not. I'm reusing all the parts (centers, barrels, bolts, etc) but they should look as new as they possibly can when my guy is done with them.

Stay gold!

Hilarious that all of the pictures in this thread of gold-centered BBS are NOT on white...

Those look like factory Carrera flares, and 16x8 (probably ET28) front 16x9 (ET11 I'm sure) rear.

Yeah, would have liked to see more white cars with gold bbs, but I've enjoyed looking at the pics regardless. Turned out to be a cool BBS thread.

I'm thinking I'm going to go period correct and have then done factory BBS gold. I am going to use the red BBS center caps though. Should look pretty good. And if I hate, I suppose I can have them painted again at some point. Although I think on the first page I posted a white 964 with gold wheels and I liked it.

Best I could find when I asked the Google.

Here is a pic of a 993 riding on LMs with a brushed bronze finish. Looks sweet.

Bronze-y gold works a little better IMO--see the '74 RS, after-all. Though that car has matching Carrera stripes, which tie the color in.

Part of me just thinks if the centers are being refinished, you might as well change the color, but in the end BBS gold is the classic look.

Saw this online and it really got my attention. My car is white with can can red interior.

What about red centers and a red carrera script up the side? This has got me thinking... It really pops.

Yes!

Deputy - I thought we had twin cars, but my interior I believe is darker than yours...by far. May have to look at the 85 vs. 88 interior options to find out.

PS - my interior hurts my eyes...

Looks the same to me! Can Can red. I like it!

I have a RS style replica on my 2002 in gun metal center and i like it. Black center wouldnt bring out the mesh so between black or gold id choose gold.

So what did you decide on the wheels? Pictures?

Center Cap Color option

Hello - I am looking for ideas on center cap options...

These are the APEX wheels in "Motorsport Gold" on a white 964 - I would like to go with Porsche center caps but none of them really fit color wise.
Thx
