Randolf Racing. I have not used them but the shop facilities looks pretty impressive. Maybe somebody in the MA area has some first hand experience. Here's their link
http://www.ranrace.com/index.html There is also a small independent Porsche repair shop in Woonsocket. The name of the place is Topline Motors, Inc. The Owner is Victor Pedro, phone number is 401-766-3677. I have stopped in several times just to check out the cars in the parking lot and chat with Victor. I do all my own work so I don't have any first hand experience with either shop. Maybe someone else on the board has some first hand experience.

I've hung around with a lot of Porsche friends here in the north east since 1996 and I have never heard even a single bad thing about Randolph Racing (Kevin Saltzman). I know guys who use him for their track cars and they seem happy with his work. I'd give him a shot.

Does anyone know anything about KAM in Waterbury, CT? They aren't far from
you Chris and their ad says 45 years experience from 4 cams to 911. The # is 203 754 1547. I've only seen their ad in Excellence, and as I haven't found any- one in RI I would like to talk to someone familiar with them.

There are a few good shops in CT. I have never tried KAM nor do I know any of the PCA guys who have. I think P-car fans travel in small circles so it's probably more that the group I was around used one or two places (other than KAM) rather than KAM being a bad place or anything like that. They have been a long time sponsor and advertiser in "Challenge" (CT Valley Region newsletter) so if I had the need I would not hesitate to use them. I think they specialize in the pre-911 era cars and those are their main customers. Again, I didn't know any of the pre-911 crowd so again, I had no interaction with KAM.
In the Waterbury area there is a fantastic shop called Hairy Dog Garage. Dan Jacobs, owner, head mech, and long, long time factory mech runs a great shop and builds some of the fastest cars on the PCA circuit and welcomes even the simplest maintenance type job. He's really a full service P-car shop. He is in Oxford, CT. If you are looking for him, try the name Dan Jacobs, LLC. I think that's how he is listed. Waterbury and Oxford (my previous home shop) is 2.5-3 hrs away. |
