Lindsey Wheels

Ok All,
I've seen plenty of posts concerning the famed Lindsey Wheels. I love these wheels but all I ever see them on is wide bodied 911's. I have an 84 911 cab and would love to see what these babies look like on a narrow body car. Even better, a narrow body cab. Finally, has anyone ever thought of doing a Lindsey wheel like the black Fuchs. I've only seen them polished but think they would look pretty sharp black. If any of you guys had any pics, that would be great!

Mike

There is a member on the board who has what you are looking for. Regular flared Carrera with Lindseys in black. His screen name is mackpipes - I think. Sweet looking car lowered with Lindseys.

Thanks Jorian! I'll wait to see if he or anyone else posts. I always thought they looked sharp polished - and of course they look tough on a wide body car. But I like understated tough. So, I thought - hmmmm, lindsey's in black on a narrow body car. Thats gotta look sharp

Bryan--how did you get your ride height so low with those sizes? Do you rub on the track? You must have a super stiff suspension. I run the same sizes and rub slightly on tight turns and dont sit nearly as low and there is no room to spare on the inside or out. And yes I've done all the tricks--move oil lines, negative camber, shaved spring plate bolts. Am I missing something? Love your car....

Mike, my Lindseys are on order - should be ready early March. They are going on a black cab. I will post pics once they are mounted. They will be 17x8x9s by the way.

Thanks, for the nice comments guys.

JonT---No rubbing at all. Car is actually just a touch higher now (9mm).
I am running a relatively stiff setup, 23 and 33mm GS hollow
torsion bars with revalved Bilsteins, and my car weighs 2280 #'s
w/ 3/8's of a tank of fuel.

As rsrfan mentioned, the car is intercooled. We fabbed the intercooler to
fit under a ducktail because I really wanted it to be a sleeper, and appear
to be a naturally aspirated car. The exhaust was done to look like a
typical RS/RSR N.A. motor would look. The drivers side exhaust pipe is actually a dummy---it is just a dump pipe for the wastegate.
Anyway, it's a 3 liter twin plug turbo and is really more car than I
bargained for. It dynoed at 349 RWHP at 1 bar and she only weighs
2280 #'s.

Jack, I hope to get this car out to WSIR soon and look forward to some of your fine instruction. My last 911 was a '70 T, and something tells
me I might have my hands full
I may have to sell this baby and get something more
my speed, like a '70 T. We'll see how it goes.

Bryan,
that is one beautiful car!

Would you please share the wheel offset measurements, I am currently looking to do exactly the same set up on my track SC.

If I can swing in the same size wheels and rubber it would keep me from going widebody.

Thanks

Darryl, Bryan, All,
Thanks so much for posting pics. AS i said, I've seen plenty of wide body cars with these great wheels - and we all know the wide bodies look awesome. But I had not seen any narrow bodied cars with Lindseys. I have to be honest, but I am drooling over your car Darryl! Awesome Awesome Awesome! I can't wait to win the lottery and get my vision the way I want it! My car is Diamond Blue, so its close to your color. Those oil cooler scoops actually look cool - this is the 1st time I've seen them on a car. Did you notice any benefit? Would love to see pics of your interior as well. Crosby50, I would love to see the Lindseys on your cab. If I ever was able to get in the clear to do some of the stuff I REALLY want to on my car - of course I will post pics. Thanks again all. Really appreciate it!

Mike
