valve Adjustment
Had posted this in the 912 Forum, but figure it might get more play here.
Just purchased a 912. Want to do the Valve Adjustments myself - figure part of the "Fun" of these cars is doing all but the hardest maintenance yourself. Wanted to ask how hard that was and if there are any how to guides. Or, better yet, I'm in Los Angeles and if there are any Pelicans that wouldn't mind showing me how to do this in person, would gladly buy you some breakfast or a nice coffee. Thanks! |

Sure, PM me and I will show you two ways
![]() Just make sure you have a Proper Box 13MM Wrence the offset one and the 911 Feeler Gauge tool and extra blades from out hose. It would also be nice if you have the pulley wrench that came with the car and per INCH torque wrench. Supplies: New Gasket, New Nuts and Washers and of course Oil and Filter of Choice. BTW, are planning to drop the engine or do in the car? Jim

The valve adjustment on a 911 is hard. At least hard for me because you adjust the intakes from inside the engine bay and the exhaust from underneath. a 912 is a piece of cake. Just like adjusting the valves on a 67 VW Bug. If you have ever worked on a Bug, then it is the same! On this site under Tech articles, you will find 356 valve adjustment. That should do it because you have the same motor.
