Part no for flex hose at smugglers box
Does anyone have a part number for the approx 3" dia flex hose that connects to the evap blower in the smugglers box and goes towards the dash. Must be all of an inch long.
|
That one is a hard item to find.
I used HVAC dryer hose from hardware store. You could go to a Aircraft Spruce type store, they may have it. |
I bought this hose, fits very well:

My PET lists this as 911-571-240-01 for my 87 Carrera and PP indicates that it has been updated to 911-571-240-02 for a 74-89 911.

Thankyou Harold. Are you sure this is the right hose. The hose I need is only about 1-1/2" long. When I look up that part number it looks like a much longer hose.
|
This one here.... you can almost see the other clamp, shows you how short this hose is.

I'm sure based on comparing the PET diagram and what is on my car. You could confirm with PP or by checking page 364 from this PET,http://www.porsche.com/all/media/pdf/originalparts/usa/911_USA_87_89_KATALOG.pdf. The Air Distributor, Gasket and Connecting Piece are very distinctive.

Andy,
I'm in the process of converting my A/C system from R12 to R134 and received the replacement hose from Griffiths but it did not have a part number on the package. To replace mine, I used a tie wrap on one side and spun it around to check the fitting. It's a tight fit. Harold |

911-571-240-02 It is the correct P/N. I bought one last year when I replaced the A/C in our 3.2. I did have to cut off about 2 inches. Tight, but great fit no problem. Good luck, Gerry |

^^^^^ Correct P/N. Gerry |

The PAG diagram is horribly not to scale. Oh wait, if the same as in the pic above, Thanks Doc, time to change my dryer hose :-P |
Wait, do you guys have a collapsing/wire wound hose there? Mine is a thicker rubber piece, like the rubber connectors between the CIS airbox and intake runners which is a bear to get connected on both ends. Is mine non-stock?
|
My old one, from what I could tell from it's remains, was a wire spiral hose.
It has crossed my mind just to pick up some 3" dryer hose. I don't think it's hot air there or anything. it's not doing much of a job really. anyway - looks like we are in agreement about the part number. Thank you everyone. |
Let me check I might still have the one I remove which you could have for the cost of shipping or free pick up in Ottawa.
|
That would be superb.
|
Found it (after opening the 10th bin). Not perfect but its still would be functional. The inside diameter is 83.5mm (~3.25").
It yours for free but the only problem is that I dont think Post Canada has anything less then $12 shipping for small box. Any other way I can get it to you? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1464370524.jpg |
Thank-you so much for digging that out. I found one here in Winnipeg on this morning so I took it. I really appreciate you digging it out though. And yes, Canada post is not cheap.
|
Good for you.
One day, when I'm retired (13 months to go), I will spreadsheet the 20 bins so I don't have to go through all off them when I look for something :D:):D |
ooh - must be ace to be retired! Congrats.
