I went through the same process when mine was in primer; all of the sudden you have a clean slate and all these color options. I ultimately decided to stay with the factory Light Ivory which I happen to really like a lot. So staying with it wasn't a big deal for me. Brown would definitely test me. I would maybe stay with a color that sort of relates a bit to the brown?
Porsche made a later date brown color called Nugget Brown which to me is quite nice. Do an internet search, it will come up. It’s less in your face. Other browns: Tobacco Brown Chocolate Brown Copper Brown Quartz Grey Brown Expresso Brown Some other color options that might be somewhat sympathetic are below. Here's a link to all sorts of colors: rare porsche colors Gold ![]() Olive ![]() Gray-Beige..not sure of what the actual color is called but it’s rare and really nice. ![]() Maybe Orange?

Speaking of unique colours...Did you happen to see the Scandinavian movie "The Bridge" Quite a movie! I didn't know what to think of the colour of the '77 911 that they used in the movie, but after seeing it often, I came to quite like it. Definitely a rare colour... With a nice set of Fuchs I thought that it looked good. so[/I] https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2014/jan/18/the-bridge-porsche-cult-status

After having my car for a short while I started saying, "Any color as long as it is silver!" because it hides any dirt amazingly. You can drive it through a rainstorm and people will still complement you on it.
That said I have been lusting after a long hood and my two favorite longhoods are in gray and aubergine. (Not sure what they gray is called but here is an example...)

My signal orange '70T.
The original color. If I had a choice to change (I did but chose original) I might have gone signal yellow or Bahama Yellow - not quite as bright.

Man, I do like that Olive. It's at the top of my list if I ever paint my 68 912.

"Phoenix Red" was on my 914. It's actually a very bright orange & looks great!

Recently I've started really liking white on 911s.
I once saw an early car painted in a pearl looking white. It was fantastic. |
