OT- just got the race-rig ready & loaded up!

Got a super deal on this trailer... just had to paint it, put in a new floor and new wheels. I have done everything I can do to the car and now she is on the way up to Comprent in Athens, Ga where they are going to give the car a once-over, as well as set up the chassis. I was also able to pick up 6 sets of Avon Slicks, plus a set of Compomotove Wheels with Yoko rains- I'm about to take them apart and clean them up. The SCCA license school is Feb 6-9 at Roebling Road outside Savanah if any of you want to get your license and start club racing!

WOW!...I could live in that trailer and be quite happy. Hell I've lived in smaller places that were not quite as clean.

I'd love to start club racing. I can't afford to do it with the 911, but I've been giving serious thought to the Miata stock class in SCCA.

Great setup.

Enjoy!!!

outstanding you're going to have alot of fun club racing.
the floor looks great but i've had cars "slip" around even when tied down on smooth flooring in trailers, especially when it gets wet.
i've always placed "grip tape" under where the tires rest on the floor, grip tape can be aquired from skateboard shops (1'x3' for about $5.00) or online i'm sure.
just my opinion and some freindly advice

bell is correct, Ive seen cars slide around on the tiles, and Ive also seem the tiles ripped up from hot tires sticking to the tiles, then the car moving during transport, and tiles have been removed by this.

Ive seen aluminum diamond plate used under the tires either 2X10 or so strips or individual plates under each tire.

Dreaming about when I buy a enclosed trailer.

Thanks for the suggestions- I would love to use diamond plate runners but it costs $$! I will look into the grip tape, but really can't see how the car would move around when it is tied down w/ 4 straps... I am going to change it so the straps are in an "x" (criss-cross) which should help.

I'm envious.....
Used to race FF & SR. I always wanted to try an FC.

I'm getting the racing bug again, but the 87 911 takes care of that even though I don't drive that fast on the highways. I always seem to remember a 500 ft. spin at Pocono in 91 coming out of the tunnel turn. VERY high pucker factor.

Have fun & let us know how the racing goes.

Dave
