Oxygen sensor

My 3.0 litre doesn't have an oxygen sensor, has anybody thought of putting one into the pre muffler (no cat in mine) and putting a gauge in the cockpit to at least monitor the gases?

I have searched the net but nothing seems to pop out.

Any thoughts??

There are a couple companies that offer kits (sensor, wiring, gauge). 'Innovate' is one example.
I like the idea but haven't investigated. I have an o2 sensor and wonder if the single sensor could be used to drive both my DME and the gauge.
