				Steering Wheel Always Dancing

New struts, dampers, Bridgestone S-03s, aligned, 25.25 front height 24.75 rear, 12mm bump steer spacers, 930S wheel. When driving, the steering wheel, unless on very smooth pavement, is constantly moving, dancing, communicating every little bump, even feeling like it's vibrating at times on rough pavement like that of much of our freeways these days. It's rarely ever totally quiet and smooth like modern cars. I figure this to be the fine, sensitive steering characteristics of our fine cars. Or?

Nope. Not unless I misunderstand you. Yes, I can feel the steering inputs through the wheel and yes, the steering wheel is 'active' as a result and one should drive with both hands on the wheel. But no, by steering wheel does not vibrate, or rock back and forth in its bushings. Some folks have needed to replace their bushing which is near the top of the steering shaft, under the steering wheel. So, hopefully I misunderstood you. When I grab my steering wheel and try to force it left or right or up or down, it stays put. No bushing play. Yours should be that way too.

Mine does have a little play up/down--I've been wanting to get at it for a while. Guess I'll do it now....

Make sure you get the metal replacement bushing...someone sold me a plastic one and I had to replace it again shortly thereafter... Takes about 15 minutes to replace. Mike | ||
