Needing assistance in Vancouver, BC

Hi...I have been having a very troublesome 'no start' issue.

Today I was finally able to find out why I have had no power to the DME relay, including the ECU...Of all things, it was due to having dirty contact-points in the Alarm Module!

After sanding and cleaning the points the power returned to the DME relay, ECU, including the ICV, 'but' I still have a 'no start' issue- aka- no spark at the plugs.

A check that I did on the coil showed that it was OK. All of the sensors new, and they also are OK. It appears that another issue may be within the ECU that may be preventing it from starting.

Note:...I was in need of a 911 3.2 so as to check my ECU out, but this evening a local Pelican has offered to let me try my ECU in his car over the weekend.

Somehow, I have reason to believe that it still may be part of the alarm module...I guess that I will soon find out ay.

Jim, thanks so much for your offer.
I'll take you up on it for sure if I can't find someone local.

I'll let you know within the next couple of days.

AB,

It will work. I swear and it will not harm your car.

It is literally plug and play.

10MM long 1/4" socket, a magnet to fish out the 4 nuts.

You must hear or feel a CLICK to insure proper seating of the connectors.

Thanks Draco...I messaged with the OP and he also was told it wouldn't work in my car. I'm up for him to try it if need be for sure as I am positive I will be in the same spot some day and always try and pay it forward. Cheers.

Horse, I have mine out and on a shelf in the garage. I'm flying into Vancouver Sunday night for a meeting and golf match in Coquitlam at the Vancouver Club. I'm leaving town on Monday evening on the 9pm flight. If that gives you enough time you can come out Sunday evening and pick it up. I've been thinking of looking you up anyway when I had time. Not sure how you'll be able to get it back to me but we can work something out.

Mark

Just read this again - so you need to put your unit into another car - my mistake. Same offer though, if you want I'll take yours with me and try it in my car next week. I can then Purolator it back to you. Not the most convenient but the best I can offer.

Let me know.

Thanks Mark for your generous offer. Just a few hours ago I had a fellow Pelican from Coquitlam kindly offer me to try it out on his car, most likely on Saturday morning. He's going to confirm it with me Friday evening. What a coincidence that you will be golfing in Coquitlam...Tis a small world indeed ay.

I best change my request right away.

Please get in touch with me on the weekend, and if possible I would like to catch up with you...Thanks again for your offer. Much appreciated.
I'll PM you my number

PS - You have to to run your business, you restore a 911 in?? 'weeks', you have a family... And you are still able to fly down here to - Golf? ...Amazing! - "I wish"

Haha - should I add that my golf match is also being attended by our Premier? Sounds glamorous the way you put it but the pants still have two legs and they go on one at a time. I think this Forum is a great equalizer in people as we are just enthusiasts 1st and something else second. Good luck on Saturday and let us all know how it goes.

PS - I'll add that you have achieved what many of us aspire to with all of your 911 restorations - Congrats!

Not to "PARF" it up but, I wonder how much of an appearance fee she's getting...LOL. Good luck on the issue.
