A/C Heater Control and Radio Delete? (Not using Rennline)

I have searched all over for some ideas to remove the Fresh Air/Heater Control and Radio from the lower dash. I removed the fresh air system, but I have a new A/C system in place.

This tread is the most helpful for ideas so far:
Let's see your custom interior!!

I know the rennline lower metal dash looks great, but I want to keep the corner A/C vents, the glove box, the lower dash padding , corner padding and ashtray.

Well now that I think about it, I can even delete the glovebox, but I need the corner A/C vents, the lower padding , corner padding and ashtray.

I also have seen the Radio Delete plate, but is this plate also works for the Air/Heater opening? Has anyone used it to block out this opening?

Has someone just found a clean and elegant way to just delete the Controls and the radio opening?

Any Ideas?

Why don't you just make your own dash trim piece to suit exactly what you want?

I think it will be really easy and you could upgrade the materials. It isn't like you need to do any engineering math here.

I have the Rennline lower dash and couldn't be happier. I don't need an ash tray or glovebox. I would've liked to use the padding but couldn't figure out how to easily make it compatible.

I am in the process of deleting fresh air controls and all the junk in the frunk. I am deleting heater system as well. However i will be having an upgraded a/c. I have no radio, no speakers either, long gone. I want to build a dash trim and incorporate left and right air vents and route cooling hoses for extra flow. This requires a clever design. I might pick up one of those rennline pieces to use as a base point for my project.

I wish it would be something that would replace the face and the knee pad sections.

I just want to clarify. I love Rennline products and I am using some of them on my restoration. From what I see the dash piece was develop for the racing guys and it looked soo good that many people try to incorporate them on their restoration but is not really meant for that, to my opinion they are missing in lots of sales no having a dash piece for the street guys that incorporte the use of the knee pads, A/C vents and it should have options for the openings and their location. Until then I will probably leave the Heater controls in place and use a Radio delete plate.

Unless someone posts a good idea or alternate to this....

Couldn't agree more. I'm surprised someone hasn't started offering "street" backdate products, etc, given there's so many interior companies and craftsmen out there.

If any of you guys that are yanking you heater controls from the dash and have a really nice one... I'd be interested. It needs to be correct for a mid-year.

Maybe my solution is worth a try. Simple aluminum sheet metal, bent and bolt on. Sure it's no problem to stay with ashtree. I cut out for radio, but now I use it as glove box.

Proffighter I like your idea, I will like something similar to what you did. Here is a pic of what I ended up doing until a someone develops a piece or I get the time in the future to fabricate one. I took two of the radio delete pieces and used one for the radio and modified a second one and placed it on top of the fresh air control faceplate.
By the way, I like your color choice.
