sounds like you have an 84-89 3.2 liter carrera? Looks like you've done the basics and that going with a tuner chip would be the last step before bank breaking commences. I'd check out the products offered by sal (scarseller on pelican, see New Product: Performance Chip with Matched Injectors for 3.2L Carrera) and steve wong (911chips.com)

Unless dropping another $10-15k isn't "breaking the bank," increasing displacement to 3.4l doesn't seem to be an option. Similarly, while a chip can remove/reset the rev limiter, the rod bolts on a 3.2 engine are a weak point in the engine and can stretch (and lead to $$$$ failures) if overreved, so again, while steps can be taken to make a 3.2 rev higher, these are $$$ steps.

Another option that's still relatively $$$ is regearing your 915 transmission (or replacing the ring and pinion with a 7.31 ring and pinion) -- gearing changes will bring you some additional peppyness at the expense of (depending on how you do it) higher rpm at highway speed.

Finally, remember that lightening the car increases the power to weight ratio and will make the car faster/peppier -- can you live without/remove your AC? rear bumperettes, factory seats, etc.??

I agree. A chip and pulling heavy things out of the car would be the next step unless you have the means to put many thousands into the engine's performance.

If you are just cruising and want a faster 'feel', then the chip will definitely give you that. If you are on the track and want to compete with newer cars, then my guess is that it would take both reducing weight and a significant engine investment. Things like dual-plugging, cams, larger pistons, transmission, etc. can add up pretty quickly.
