Intermittent power

Greetings to all I have a 1982 911 SC target. Lately for some reason when I accelerate I have intermittent power. When I accelerate the car feels like something is holding get from going and intermittently it releases and it picks up as if the obstruction is gone. And then half of a second later it feels like it hits the wall and it doesn't want to go anymore in one second later something is released and the nose of the car picks up and it hits another wall again.
I apologize if it seems unclear but I don't know how else to explain the behavior of the acceleration.

If anyone can share their expertise and experience with me I really would appreciate it

May want to check this out. This is for the 944 but the 911 is virtually the same. Air Flow Meter (AFM) - from "The 944 Motronic DME" by FR Wilk

Twickles == this only applies to 84-89 carreras, the SC doesn't use motronic dme

Does the air metering plate move smoothly?
