915 transmission

So I bought a 915 transmission for my VW Van 3.2 flat 6 project. I can not clearly see the transmission serial number but I think it is 7542256, does this make any sense?

I know it is post 1977 as it has an electronic sender. Anyone know what spec this would be?

Dave

I suspect it was converted to electronic speedo. That's a 1974 serial number.

Is it a mix of mag case and aluminum case parts?

doesn't look like a conversion and as I said, serial number is not clear. Looks to be an aluminium case. Is there any other way of telling?

Oh my, those numbers are toast

Any way to get a close up of the bell housing especially where it mates to the engine or the clutch shaft portion?

^^^+1, when I cleaned my gear box I saw those numbers there too.
