80 SC rear seat Lock Knob Help

Hi all, I purchased a new lock knob set for both left and right rear seats, I can't figure out how to install the pin? To my understanding, the SC's came with these from factory. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need the bearings: 911 522 227 01 and 911 522 228 01, Left and Right sides.

Might be different part number for your year and model. Check PAG Katalog

I do not think the 1980 used the lock. You hold the sear up with the strap at the top (7 and 7a on your diagram) If you figure out how to make it work, keep me posted, I will like to install a lock on my 79SC

No locks on the rear seats of my 82SC either, just the straps, that if they are installed correctly are worthless. So lets see a pic of the proper strap configuration amongst the discussion of the locks.

Looking at your hinge, it appears you are missing the needed second hole.

I must agree with the posts, yours uses straps to keep the back up.

But I wonder why PAG have the 3 parts in your diagram. Annoying.

Damn- probably started using these locks in 83. Bummer- looks like I'll be returning these parts to our host, unless an awesome member here with a 79-82 which has them still installed. I thought the leather straps where just added retention. LOL- thanks fellas! I'll tell you what a pita it was to break the seat flathead bolts loose, I assume they haven't been touched since the factory.

I bought an '83 new back in the day and it didn't have those. For sure they were not used in 1980; I've owned two of those. I'm pretty sure they were introduced in 1986. To use them, you would need to remove the bracket welded to the tub between the seat backs and weld on the later style of bracket.
