Aluminum Floor Boards - Thanks Pelican Member: low miles

Some of you may have gotten a set of these high quality/reasonably priced drilled aluminum floor board sets that fellow Pelican member "low miles" was making late last year. They are made out of a nice high-quality aluminum and are really well-made.

But, alas the big name vendor than sounds like "hen sport" complained to Wayne that they could no longer top off the fuel in their private jet (or something like that) due to Low's competition. Shortly thereafter the boards became "NLA" on these forums.

Low and I struck up a conversation when corresponding about the set I ordered for my '87 coupe. I shared with him how I appreciated the boards were "raw" and not covered in clear coat and I could just buff them up with a scotch brite pad and having them looking great again.

I then inquired about getting set for my M491 Targa. Low had not ever done a set of Targa/cab board before. So after a few more minutes I agreed to yank the boards out of my Targa and send them to Low out in Oregon.

Fast forward a couple weeks..and here they are. A really nice set of drilled aluminum floor boards that match the original shape perfectly. (Ignore the fact that I have the passenger boards upside down in the pic

Low miles can't advertise these on the forums anymore, but if you are considering getting drilled aluminum pedal boards, and you want to support your fellow Pelicans, send low miles a private message. I am sure he can deliver the goods.

I like these BETTER than the other kinds. Why? I don't want some modern logo in my car. To get around the logo problem I was going to make my own but now that I know someone makes them I'll be ordering. I've got a ways to go before I need them but I'm glad to know these are out there.

Low, do you also make pedals/dead pedal also?

Received and duly installed

All ports/holes line up nicely, over layed on OEM part.



Fitment to car is perfect as OEM, too bad carpet covers it but functionality was what I was after, the nice thing is, it is metal, most if not all the flex is gone vs the plywood.

Side Note, Low Miles' is about 1MM-1.5MM thinner than the OEM board so you will need fender washers to make up the difference to lock down the Clutch Pedal Stopper bracket, no big deal, had many 2MM thick washers laying in my spare parts bin , Oh yeah, because it is metal, I did not have to torque the 4MM allen bolts as tight. Always afraid I am going to strip those suckers.

Hint, measure old brackets position from bottom to the rubber stop and you will not have to make re-adjustments to the pedal throw, if you are OCD you have no choice
