flapper bolt spacings - need to make a cover
I need to remove one of my flappers because the internal mechanism is loose. I want to cover the opening while the flapper is out. Anyone have the dimensions/pattern for the bolts that hold the flapper on? Even close would help.
Also, is there a trick to getting the little clip shown below back on? Last time I could not get it slid all the way on, and the mechanic did it. Thanks ![]()

Spray something like WD40 and slowly pry it out with small screw driver.
Here is my 10 steps program: Cleaning Flapper Boxes

JJ 911SC,
Are you describing how to take the clips off, or put them back on? I need to know how to get them back on all the way so there is no play. Thanks

Oops, yes I was.
To put it back, its just press fit. You can use an open pair of pliers and push it down or use a small socket and softhly tap it down.
