What color should I choose?

I am thinking about having my Fuchs refinished. I have an Iris blue '86 cabriolet. I want to have them polished. Can not decide whether to go back with black. Match the cars color with polished pedals. Or, black with polished pedals.
What is your vote.

My car.

Matching color w/polished pedals.

Basic black

Didn't see one with black w/polished pedals

Personal preference. I myself don't much care for polished Fuchs, prefer the original anodized finish. My wife thinks the anodized finish is a bit too bluish to compliment my chiffon car, but they'd work well on Iris.

Mine is Light Blue Metallic, almost the same as your Iris blue. I didn't care for the standard anodized lip / satin black centre with that colour. The matte silver didn't complement the silvery-blue paint of the car very well, it just looks weak. Same goes for a lot of the lighter metallic colours like Platinum. After looking at a lot of photos, I re-finished my Fuchs with a polished lip and semi-gloss black centre. I did it myself as a winter project. I love the result. It's not to everyone's taste, but I think it compliments the paint colour very well.

Darkly- noon your rims look great. Arne your too. David either would look great on your car. But I think the iris blue centers are just lost on the rims. The black just stands out so muck better.

I agree with Darkly-Noon, that is the best look for the light blue metalic.

My impression is that polished petals work well on cars with a traditional/subdued paint colour, it brightens them up a little. Bright yellows, oranges and the like do better with the black anodized centers. When I repainted my 86' coupe in it's original Garnet Red Metallic I went with polished petals and I think it was a big improvement.

If you went with the polished spokes/petals you could be just like Ted Varrick!

Couldn't find any pics of his cab, so this'll have to do...

I like the black finish. Other than that, I think I like RSRish look better than polished but I may be a little biased (mine is also darker blue).

Think about how much you drive your car and how much you like rubbing in polish on the rims.

Low miles+High love for waxing rims+nice garage= high gloss
High miles + Life is too short for that stuff+God forbid car gets wet in rainstorm= less gloss

Ron

I have wondered what a tone-on-tone look would look like. For my car (Casablanca beige metallic), that would be sort of a dark bronze. In your case, that would be black with a little bit of blue in it, for a very dark blue.
