Need Help Identifying loose Wire in Front Fuse Box
I installed my classic retrofit fuse panel last night and I was very careful (I thought) to transfer wires one-at-a-time and when I was all done, a little wire showed up - Dang!
I checked all my before photos and I can't see this wire anywhere. It's white with a blue stripe. See below... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1471026501.jpg Closest "before" photo I have. I think the wire belongs on terminal #1 of the right fuse block: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1471026534.jpg |
high beam indicator lamp wire.
Pull the tach and bulb to confirm if you need to. Fuse 8 on Your '74. |

Thanks!
I'm going to spend some quality time tonight checking and double checking all wires and compare to my original before photos. Terminal 8 makes sense because that is the one terminal that I got temporarily mixed up on. Easy to do since my '74 doesn't have the 3 fuses that the later cars have so lining up the panels was not as easy. |
Good info from Dennis. Looks like your dip and main pairs are the wrong way round on the bottom. Blue and blue/white come off the white pair (1&2). yellow and yellow/green come off the yellow pair(3&4). Refer to Dennis's wiring diagram.
In practice, it will mean that your dip/main functions are reversed at the stalk. if it was always like that, then your main beam warning light would have been on with the dip!!!! |
Just in case you don't have the '74 color schematics Vern. :)

Thanks Dennis!
This is not the first time you have bailed me out :) |
