Most of you know the story... not really a before/after transformation.

Hey, that's ME! (Standing next to/behind Jack Olsen's car, taken at Ventura Autofest. That's my father's rear end next to me; not his best feature!)
I only wish my car was as nice as any of those in the "R Gruppe" corral. As we speak, my car has it's hind quarters jacked up, waiting for me to rebuild the motor and stuff it back under her. Then it'll be time for paint, interior, and misc other stuff, and then finally, some track events. I'd post pictures but I think my car would be too embarrassed to be seen in it's current state. Happy New Year to all Jim 1972 911T (in pieces)l |
ok, these are REAL crappy pictures,. taken WAY before digital cameras. I cant find the other ones right now. I seem to have a bad habit of not taking pictures of my stuff. I took no pictures of the complete transformation of my SC to the C2Turbo Hybrid either!! But here is some early cars i have had.
a 914...http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/914b4.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/914after.JPG a '66 911...http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/66911b4.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/66911after.JPG and yes thats a 944 (gasp) in the other garage..http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/66911rear.JPG |
I didnt take any before pics of the SC, (see the above post), but Rarlyl8s SC is basically a carbon copy of mine, same color and all, so I used his !! (hope thats ok).

Michael, interesting that you posted that picture of the 911 on the forklift, I actually owned that car for a brief period of time. When researching it's VIN number, *9115600268*, I looked it up on the Internet, one site listed it as a 75 Carrera, but also fell within the range for an IROC. Obviously the body is not that of an IROC, so I dismissed it as possibly an error in research. I decided to call PCNA and asked them about it, the guy said "definitely a Carrera, it could be an IROC". Huh? I tried to sound calm, but it was Porsche themselves telling me this. I asked him if he could verify this with records in Germany, he said no, but he would ask around, which he did but no further information. In researching IROCs, ok in '74 they used Camaros, not RSRs (against). I looked for visual clues to an IROC or not, the only things I could find were that this tub has bracing on the rear shock mounts (in favor), and that it has a sunroof (against). And obviously the Carrera flares (against).
http://www.irocracing.com/History/1974/1974_photo_album.htm So, I'm no Porsche historian or anything. The best I could come up with is that this car possibly was slated to be built into an IROC, as they seem to have handbuilt them from cars off the line, but instead was left as a Carrera. Thanks Michael, it was good to see Tiffany again :) Scott. |

Very interesting story. The body actually looks pretty straight on that car. It would be a great car to use like Jack is using. It's funny, I just picked that car because it was white and looked like it had seen better days. I wonder what's happened to it? |
ZAMIRZ, what color is your 911??

Real nice work all of you!
Here´s my pics:

ARGHHHH!
Geez, don't post those car-wrecks without some advance notice! Gimmee a d@mn heart-attack seeing that.
Man, Porsche Financial would be SOOOOO pissed if I did that to my car...er, uh, their car I suppose... |
Gives me hope for my ol' 911 to be someday transformed into......a even better ol' 911.
|
Come On Jocke,
Man.. just as soon as I start to like my SC again.. you have to go and post that white monster! and make me want your car! why man ! why! hahahaha;) Jocke you do indeed have one sweet ass 930! my favorite 930 on this BBS! I'll bet ya can't wait till summer huh! to take her out.. and spool it up ! SO what do ya have in mind as far as Mod's ? bigger Turbo? what type of exhaust is that well the tips anyway. did you nake it yourself to get them to point stright out the rear like that! i love that look.. I love the sound of mine but nope the angle of the tips really.. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/Mvc-loud.jpg Eric Mckenna 78SC |
Jocke, your car looks awesome. Funny how an accident that looks better after you repaired it than before it was damaged turns out...:D :D :D :D

My before and after
Also a good candidate for the "Built in the smallest garage" trophy. I did most of the work in a single car garage, I'd have to slide it to one side of the garage in order to work on the side of the car, then slide it over to work on the other side.
