Mikkel,

Do you drive your Carrera everyday (to work, etc)?

Or is it just a toy? :) It's even lower than mine!!

Deeks 01-03-2003 03:38 AM

Hey Racemor.... beautiful 911E;)
What's the colour ?

racemor 01-03-2003 04:25 AM

Thanks, I put it back to it's original '73 silver. No cool name, like "signal" silver, or anything, just silver. I liked the blue but took the opportunity to put it back to the way it came, in color anyway. ;)

I usually drive it every day as long as the weather is resonable. I really hate speedbumps though. Oh and right now it's snowing so no Porsche driving.... :(

Deeks 01-03-2003 06:45 AM

oops... from the pic I thought it was still a light metallic blue colour...?

racemor 01-03-2003 08:46 AM

What, you don't like silver?:D It was blue when I bought it but it is silver now. Best I can tell, it was close to gemini blue. But having seen some of the other blues in person I know it was not medium blue metalic, which I thought may have been the other possibility.

Here's mine...

1988 Carrera 3.2 Cabrio Turbo Look. Original colour was 'Lagoon Green, which I thought was hedious. Repainted to 'Expresso', with Strosek styled front and rear bumpers.

By the way, I'm from Malaysia, and the photos of the current car was taken at the car park of the Sepang F1 Circuit, it's a cloudy 32C today....

Thanks Wayne for a great website, and looking forward to receiving my service parts!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/PORCHER.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/100-0055_IMG.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/100-0058_IMG.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/100-0060_IMG.JPG

Uhh, I hope that door that's open behind you in that shot, wasn't to the house :)

Nice cars! I wish I had taken more pics of the process! I took mostly Polaroid's, so I could figure out where things went when putting it back together. I hate all those pesky leftover parts! :D

Great thread!

I don't have any before on this computer and it isn't really finished but here is a during and a more or less finished w/ some photoshop help on the wheels that are at Al Reeds at present.

I brought it back to the original Mexico Blue from the white that it had been since about 1980. You can see some of the original blue paint in the first two pics.

Here's some latest ones:

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1061309298.jpg

Strosek styled side skirts, aero mirrors, 996TT tailpipes (bought it on UK ebay for a tenner!)

Still to do - 964 reflector and tailights, replace damaged rear sway bar, and a new set of carpets.

needlevalve 08-20-2003 06:33 PM

Success!

I am happy to be in the position to reply to this post. WHat started out as a 2 month restoration project ready for the first day of summer turned out to be an all summer long progect because of a dropped valve...(maybe I'll get a couple weeks of driving in this summer/fall). Now with a new top end and a bunch of electrical work the car is almost complete. Just one more week or so to get it certified and licensed...an eternity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
